The Ritchie Law Firm has extensive experience gained over the past 23 years in the areas of child support and spousal suport matters.
Child Support is determined with reference to the Child Support Guidelines that are set by the Oklahoma Legislature. The statute takes into consideration the income of each parent, number of children, provision of health insurance and child care, and the number of overnight visitations during the year with the non-custodial parent among other factors. The obligation of child support continues until the child reaches the age of 18 and is no longer in school.
Spousal Support is an amount of money paid periodically to a divorcing spouse. The support may be temporary or for a specified longer duration. Spousal support matters are often complex and highly contested matters involving issues of past history of work, contributions to the education of a spouse, need and ability to pay.
